Scarlet
Macaws are brightly colored birds that live in
the rainforest. Their feathers are red, yellow,
and blue. The face has short white hairs that
surround the light yellow colored eyes. The beak
is light on the top and dark black on the bottom.
The legs and feet are black also. |

Canopy
and emergent layers from Mexico to the Amazon
Rainforest. |
| Diet: |
Seeds,
nuts, clay, andsometimes they eat fruit. |

The
Scarlet Macaw's preadators are Carnivores,
humans, and the Harpy eagle. |

Sloth |
| Description: |
The
sloth has a round head with a flat face and
small, hidden ears.They have three long, strong
claws on their hands.Their furis coarse, long and
shaggy, often tinged green with a blue-green
algae. Head and body grizzled tan. The most
noticable feature is the long, black mane on the
shoulders and back of the neck. Measurements:
Head-Body: 450-500mm; Tail: 48-50mm; Hind Foot:
100-115mm. |
| Habitat: |
They
live in the canopy layer of Amazon Rainforest.
They also live in Central America, Honduras,
Argentina, Paraguay, and Brazil. |
| Diet: |
They
eat fruits, leaves, and buds. The three-toed
sloth loves to eat the leaves of the Cecropia
tree. |
| Predators: |
Cats (the
jaguar and ocelot), snakes (the anaconda), and
the Harpy Eagle. |

Brazilian
Tapir |
| Description:
|
The
Brazilian tapir is related to the horse and
rhinoceros and lives deep within the Amazon rain
forest near watering holes. It is a pig-like
animal which has a stocky body with four front
toes and three hind toes. The Brazilian tapir has
a moveable nose that it uses to sniff out food. |
| Habitat: |
The
tapir live in the South American Rainforests and
parts of Central America. They also live in
Southeast Asia.The like dense forests. |
| Diet:
|
They
eat mostly grass (green shoots), and also twigs
and shrubs. |
| Predators: |
Their
main preaditors are poachers (their skin makes
excellent leather) and big cats like the jaguar. |
