The role of a scavenger is about the middle of the food chain. A scavenger will not give up a free meal if a scavenger finds a dead carcas it will start eating. A svcavenger is an animal that scavenges the area ( looks for food) and if it finds something that it likes it will start eating. If the scavenger population rises most of the scavengers will end up dieng because the do not know or are too small to kill there prey
