Carnivors

Carnivors rule the amazon. carnivors likke the army ant eat animals sucg as the wasp, leaf cutter ant, tarantulas and other animals. Fish carnivors such as the piranha eat mostly other fish also birds and mamals. It is also said that a group of piranha can eat an animal in minutes. Carnivors need herbivors to survive and with out herbivors carnivors couldn't live.

Animals Of The Rainforest

Name: Army Ant
Description: A colony consists of a fleet of about 700,000 ants.They are about 8mm to 12mm in length.They will attack and kill anything that moves. They can devour a horse in a matter of hours.Whenever their food supply is low, they move to a new home.
Habitat: .Rainforest forest floor. Central and South America.
Diet: Wasps, leaf cutter ants, tarantulas, scorpions, beetles, roaches, grasshoppers.

Name: .Jaguar
Description: The jaguar's tawny-yellow coat has many different descriptions, all beautiful. Compared with the leopard, the jaguar is generally larger, has a shorter tail, and a broader, heavier head. There are small-segregated spots on the jaguars head, and the neck has a dark open-ringed structure. A jaguar has one to four dark spots inside the rings. On the middle of the jaguar's back, a row of black spots merge into a solid line. Jaguars are also scavangers because they will not pass up a meal.
Habitat: .Jaguars live in dense tropical rain forests and swampy grasslands.
Diet: Water loving jaguars, found deep in the Amazonian region, commonly eat fish, frogs, turtles, and small alligators.

Name: Piranha
Description: A piranha, sometimes called caribe or piraya, is a carnivorous fish of the genus Serrasalmus, found in the rivers of South America.There are about 12 species of piranha. The fish are flat, oval shaped with saw-edged bellies.They range from a silver with orange belly and throat to those that are almost completely black.The fish range in size from 25 to 60 centimeters long (That's up to 2 feet) and have fine scales covering their body. They have very powerful jaws with razor-sharp teeth that enable the fish to tear the flesh from their prey.
Habitat: Piranha's are typically found in whitewater streams in South America.
Diet: Their prey are mostly other fish but also can be amphibians, birds and mammals.
