Scavenger
Scavengers are different animals that wait until carnivores are done eating on their prey so the scavenger can eat the left overs. Some of the different animals in the Amazon are like the Termite and the King Vulture. The food chain is important because then animals can eat other animals so they can stay alive.

Name: Termite
Description: Red insect with a little orange and black pinchers.
Habitat: Rainforests, mostly tropical areas, but are found in many different parts of the world.
Diet: Dead plant material like wood, grass, leaves, and dung.

Name: King Vulture
Description: Mostly white with brown feathers on the wings with a red, yellow, and black head.
Habitat: Dense tropical rainforests in Central and South America.
Diet: Carrion (decaying flesh of a dead body).
