Food Web
Food Chains:
The food chain shows what animal eats what eats. The arrows mean "eaten by" and they point to the animal that eats the little animal in front of them. The food chain is limited because there is only a certain amount of species of an animal and other animals eat them all at once then there will be no more.

Food Webs:
A food web shows what animals eat, just all at once. The producer starts it off the food chain first and first level eats that. After the second level eats that and finally the third level ends it by eating the second level and it starts over. For example, like it only shows how strong that animal is and can't be comsumed by another animal. An animal can be comsumed by another animal at other levels because the other animals could be stronger or the higher level animal could be dieing from old age or a disease.

The Delicate Balance of Organisms:

If the food chain or food web was changing of species changes animals would be messed up and the would starve because say mice were wiped out, then snakes would have to hunt in different places then the hawk might not eat supper and starve and the top of the food chain would change. Descruction of the animals habitats would change the species because when people destroy habitats of animals they could die or have to change homes and other animals would starve and would mess up the food chain.
