Food Web Page
Food Chains:
Food Chains are the web of life in a community. It shows what each animal eats and what that animal is eaten by. Each community is unique and has different animals. The Selvas is a fasanating representation of a food web.

Food Webs:
A food web shows each animals diet. There are many roles for animals to play. The most important is the producer. A producer is a plant that absorbs energy from the sun and then produces its own food. Second, is the herbivore, a plant eating animal. What feeds off a plant eating animals except a carnivore? Carnivores are at the top of the food chain.

The Delicate Balance of Organisms:
If one animal is taken out of the food web, it all falls apart. If all the plants died, what would the herbivores eat? If all the herbivores died, what would the carnivores eat? All animals must have a certain food to furfill the deit. Carnivores couldn't have the proper nutrition by eating plants. The same goes for herbivores. This is why himans are such a problem when they destroy environments. You might be able to live in the city and go to the supermarket to buy plants, but a rabbit couldn't. When a habitat is destroyed the plants are killed. Plants also create oxygen. Without oxygen, nothing can live. The Amazon Rainforest is being desroyed. This is a horrible problem because the rainforest produces 20% of the worlds oxygen.
