Food Webs
Food Chains:
A food chain is a picture or chart-type line that shows energy moving from one animal to another. It is often shown from a producerto a herbivore to a carnivore, with the herbivore eating the producer and the carnivore eating the herbivore.

Food Webs:
A food web is a chart that shows different animals (producers, herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, etc.) and what they eat. It is better than a food chain in most cases because it show a bigger picture of the animals and shows more of the things they eat.

The Delicate Balance of Organisms:
If a food chain gets messed up because of a population change, like if the number of producers went down, the number of herbivores would decrease because there would not be enough food for them, and then the carnivores would not have enough food either. When people cut down the rainforest, animals lose homes and producers die so the population can go way down and cause some species to go extinct.
