The SCAVENGERS page by Krystal W.
Scavengers are animals that feed off of dead organic matter. Different kinds of scavengers that live in the Amazon jungle are the possom, vulture, cocroach, and the termite, two of which are listed below. The detritus food chain is the chain that is made of carnivores and scavengers. It is important because detritus-eaters are scavengers. They eat dead material, so when a carnivore dies, it's good for them. Carnivores eat things that are still living, so they both basically live off of each other.
