South American Herbivores

The are many diffrent types of herbivores such as the ones posted below. 2/3 of the worlds animals live in the Amazon . That right there tells you that it would take along time to tell all the animals that live in the Amazon.

Name: Brown Titi Monkey
Description: They are about a foot long with a tail of around 14 - 16 inches. Males and females both weigh around 30 ounces.
Habitat: Parts of Brazil and Peru. Flooded forests and bamboo forests of the Amazon Basin. Understory and canopy.
Diet: Mainly fruit and leaves. Some insects.
Predators: Larger snakes and mammals.
Name: Tambaqui
Description: The tambaqui can grow to around a meter in length and weigh between 50 -70 pounds.
Habitat: Rivers in the Amazon Basin. Amazon and Orinoco river systems
Diet: Fruits, seeds and berries. Zooplankton.
Predators: Fishermen. Jaguars have also been known to catch them.
Name: Cramer's Eighty-Eight
Description: It has a wingspan of around 4 cm.
Habitat: Spends February - July in Florida and March - November in South America. Sometimes goes to Texas. Wet tropical forests, rainforests.
Diet: Mainly rotting fruit and animal wastes.
Predators: Birds and insects.
