The herbivores are in the middle of the food chain. The herbivores are usually eated by the carnivores but only sometimes. The herivores eat usually only fruit, vegetables, leaves and a lot of more things. The different kinds of herbivores are paca, night monkey, spider monkey, tapir, white faced saki, uakari monkey and many, many more.

Name: Paca
Description: The Paca has a really short tail, It measures 24 1/2 - 32 1/2 inches. It weighs between 19 and 22 pounds.
Habitat: Tropical and temperate rainforest. Central and South America. Rainforest floor. Near water.
Diet: All fruits except for citrus.
Predators: Many larger animals. Hunters who hunt them with dogs.

Name: Night Monkey
Description: They are about 9 - 15 inches in length and have a tail of about 12 - 16 inches.
Habitat: Parts of South America including the Amazon Rainforest.
Diet: Mainly insects, leaves, small vertebrates and fruit.
Predators: Snakes, larger mammals, and possibly larger owls.

Name: Spider Monkey
Description: The Black-handed Spider monkey male is about 38 - 49.5 cm in length, with a tail of between 59 - 82 cm, and weighs about 7.5 kg,They have extremely flexible shoulders. Their leaping ability is tremendous and they sprawl out like a spider. They are one of the most agile and acrobatic animals in the rainforest.
Habitat: South America in high branches and the canopy. Amazon Rainforest. Central Mexico, Bolivia, Brazil. Sometimes move into emergent layer.
Diet: Fruits and leaves mainly. Also nuts, eggs, seeds, and insects.
Predators: Poachers (humans). Jaguars.
