South America:
South America is a large continent in the south western hemisphere. It is crossed by the equator and has a great climate for a rainforest. It is the fourth largest continent and it is a home to one third of the animals on Earth. It has the largest rainforest, river, and waterfall in the world. The equator runs through South America.

The Amazon Rainforest:

The Amazon Rainforest is the largest rainforest in the world. It is also called the selvas. It is located in Brazil and Peru in South America. It has a tropical climate with lots of rain. Every year the Amazon rainforest is destroyed by mining, foresting, agriculture, and erotion. The Amazon river, which has over 1000 tributaries, runs through the rain forest. The Amazon Rain Forest produces over 20% of Earth's oxygen.
