South America:
In South America there are many rainy and there are many dry spots of land. Throughout this webpage we will give you information of animals that live in the amazon rainforest. South America is known to have land that produces more animals than most other continents. There are 13 countries in south america. 12 of them consist of amazonian climate.
The Amazon Rainforest:
In the Amazon rainforest there are many types of animals. There are scavengers, carnivores, Herbivores, and producers. We will have links that take you to pages that give you a lot of information on all the species.There is also a page on the foodchain/foodweb. 20% of the worlds oxygen is sent from the amazon rain forest. Chile is the only country without any amizonian rainforests. The amazon basin is 2.5 million miles in area. The amzon rainforest has a 4 foot more average rainfall then Maine. Also the yearly flloding of the rainforest is because of snowmelt and rain. 1/3 of the animals reproducers are in the amazon rainforest. Expansion of agriculture exploitation of wood a hydrolic power-station and gold mining are all inpacting the environment of the Amazon Rainforest.
